As request by Christina I show the picture of the water pollution mentioned in my previous post. The pollution was caused by two pottery factories which had discharged waste water containing zinc, cadmium and plumb into a small river. The photo below shows the illegal emission of waste water into that Italian small river located at 60 km North from Rome.
That illegal behaviour above mentioned causes significant risk to the environment, human health and economy. The polluted river has been significantly altered and it flows across the Treja valley which is a protected natural area: http://www.parks.it/parco.valle.treja/Eindex.php
In addition to this, illegal emission of substances into water provides for very high profits for perpetrators. Criminal law in the field of environment needs to be implemented in an effective way.

You're right - the highlights of most of my runs is seeing the beauty of nature. And to see such lovely scenery spoilt by that foul looking water is a tragedy. I'm glad you caught the culprits.
It seems like a never-ending battle to keep up with all the industrial pollution that goes on... Did you hear about the bees in Alsace that produced brightly colored honey because they fed at a plant that disposed of waste from an M-and-M's candy factory? I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the news!
I'm reading what Amy said. Everything we do we need to be careful. I hate to see beautiful things get spoiled.

Great post...... Shame on those people who think that taking the cheap and easy way out is acceptable.
That is really terrible. Here in SA and other African countries we face the same problem. So sad as Africa has some of the best that nature can offer. Unfortunately humans are not clever at all.
