The importance of hydratation

I'm trying to run four times a week, although I am not running a race this month. Moreover, once a week I'll go swimming or have a thermal bath (spa). The aim is to improve my speed slightly. Yesterday  I ran 1 hour with the group (relaxing run). The town where I live is bounded in the west by the hills and last Sunday I went to run  through those surrondings. The weather was sunny and beautiful here in Italy and ran 1 hour and 25 minutes through the typical vegetation of Mediterranean shrub hazel trees. while I was running fast on the way back I met Paola ( http://www.runnerp.blogspot.com/ ) who is the new Proud member of the Black Knight Army  :) She was running with her girlfriends.
You can see the running path in the image below. The weather wasn't cold and I thought the importance of hydratation when I'm running. I always make an effort to maintain hydratation while running.
I hope all you blogger friends will have a nice training!

The last time I was in Italy I wasn't a runner yet and I look forward to running there when I'm back although I don't think that's going to happen this year but certainly next year!

I have to think about hydratation too especially the day before a long run. I forget to drink enough sometimes. If I run less than an hour in Winter I don't bring water, in Summer I take water with me at runs longer than 30 minutes.

Hydration is extremely important and I think a lot of runners neglect it during training.

Indeed I don't like to run the "Giro della Morte" because we risk our knees there.
Welcome to the new Black Knight Army's member.

I never used to drink while I was out running because I was scared of getting a stitch but I've learnt the lesson of good hydration. Apparently losing just 2% of your water can have an effect on performance. So now I stop and drink during my longer runs.

Sounds like a wonderful setting! I am not always good about hydration!

That sounds like a great run! I started running again now that I have recovered from surgery trying to build up my mileage and stamina. Munich is much colder than where you live in Italy :-)

Good luck building up speed!

I agree with the importance of staying hydrated when exercising. Sometimes it can be an issue here when it is really cold outside and the liquid begins to freeze.

That looks like a nice area to run! I hate to carry water when doing my long runs so I try to plan my route past places where I can find a water fountain, because it really is important.
